I just happened to stumble upon touchless trash cans while looking for something irrelevant but thought it was so cool that I just had to write about it. Basically these are trash cans that open up when you put your hand near them or a piece of trash or whatever.
These can come in handy for many different reasons including sanitary purposes, convenience or just having something really cool in your kitchen that's a conversation piece when you have company over. Either way these were a really cool find and I wanted to share some of the details with you.
These have a pretty basic design and the main feature really is that touchless feature which opens the lid for you and uses a sensor. As you can see below there are different combinations of models, most of the units I found were a single trashcan but they also have double models that people are using for trash and recyclables. Some of these even have a built in deodorizer which is basically an air filter of sorts that cuts down on the amount of smell in the room.
How They Work:
- STEP 1: Swipe your hand or any other object over the sensor.
- STEP 2: The lid will lift up automatically
- STEP 3: Throw your trash or recyclables into the container
- STEP 4: That's it! The lid will automatically close by itself.
Other Cool Information:
These automatic trash cans really ranged in price depending on whether you chose to go with a single can model or a double one but generally range within the $50-$140 price tag. They came in a few different shapes including a more square design, and oval one, a half circle design and a rectangular design in nearly all of them were some sort of stainless steel type of material or a brushed nickel.
There really isn't anymore to say about these, seeing as how it is pretty self explanatory but I did think that these are worth mentioning inseam is how I did not know they existed myself, I am sure that there are other people out there that were in the same boat that I was and would probably want one for themselves. So now you know.
