A Herbal Butter Infuser, A Fantastic Idea!

A Herbal Butter Infuser, A Fantastic Idea!

Herb infused butter can be so good and usually is something you only find at a nicer type of restaurant that is usually served with some type of hot bread. I personally have been making these at home for years, infusing butter, rosemary, thyme and other herbs to make very unique butter blends to go with some of my favorite breads.

When I first stumbled across this butter infuser, I was quite surprised and didn't even know they made these. It seems like it would take the hassle out of the cooking process, so it appealed to me right away.

Features Of Herbal Infusers:

There were a couple of different models out there but they all essentially work the same way by heating up the butter and herbs together for a specific amount of time at a specific heat level, which is one of the hardest things to do if you are doing it the traditional way. These machines take a lot of the guesswork and skill out of most of the process and makes it fun to do as well.

Typically these will have a couple of different settings, usually how long you want the machine to infuse the butter for and a couple of them also have different heat settings, but they were a little bit harder to use and would take a little bit of knowledge on your part to use it correctly and have a good end result.

How They Work:

  • STEP 1: Pour your herbs into the machine.
  • STEP 2: Pour your pre-melted butter into the machine with the herbs.
  • STEP 3: Select the appropriate time/heat settings according to the type of herb you are using.
  • STEP 4: Pour the infused butter into a storage container, and you can either use of fresh or put it in the fridge and use it at another time.

Other Information:

These herbal butter infusers ranged in price but were generally around the $100-$200 price range, depending on which model, how large it was, what the features were and so on. There were not a whole lot of options out there, but I think that is because they are a pretty new item, as far as home use is concerned, and they still have a little ways to go before they become really popular with the majority of people.

These are great additions to have in any kitchen and have so many different uses and can make plain butter tastes so much better and so much more interesting very easily. I recommend that if you have not tried any type of infused butter, see if you can find some to see what you're missing out on.
